The scripts are, more or less, gender-bent Monkees TV fanfiction. They can be read as standalone stories in the same way that one could, hypothetically, just watch the TV show without being a fan of the real world band members- although it's highly unlikely that this is the case for anybody taking the time to visit a Monkees fansite. Thus, in the same way that the Monkees TV show bled into the real world and vice versa, one might easily begin to consider the implications of the universe which these gender-bent (in some ways, although perhaps a better description would be staring in a funhouse mirror and then analyzing its meaning in the form of lesbian fanfiction) episodes aired on television featuring this so-called girl band, The Monkees, playing fictionalized versions of themselves.
This leads us, then, to the "Girl Band Extended Universe"- which also may be read as stand-alone stories without the scripts, if you're just here for lesbian pornography (I won't tell anybody) or with the scripts, as a more "behind the scenes" type of experience. Your Honor, my client has requested that I pose this question to the jury for their deliberation: Does it really count as RPF if you make them women first? Let's play it classy, call it speculative fiction/alternate history. Right, nobody's taking that seriously. Who wants to see those boy band members lezz out?
